“If ever a public body needed an emergency transfusion of energy, empathy and common-sense vision, it is the port. ... Voters on Nov. 4 should make James the Port of Bellingham’s second female commissioner in its century of existence.”
My approach is to listen, build trust, and ensure decisions reflect the voices and needs of our diverse community. I’m committed to transparency and open dialogue. Our waterfront should be shaped with public input—not behind closed doors.
As a small business owner on the Port of Bellingham’s downtown waterfront, I’ve experienced the challenges of the area firsthand. Many of us have seen the slow pace of redevelopment over the past two decades and believe the port can do more to drive economic growth across Whatcom County.
With your vote, I’ll champion projects that support small businesses and workers; strengthen community partnerships; protect our shoreline and marine trades; expand public access to our waterfront with parks, trails, and community spaces; improve broadband and critical infrastructure county-wide; and deliver long-overdue progress on the waterfront, airport, and shipping terminal.
Let’s work together to build a more resilient, vibrant, and accessible future for Whatcom County—from Bellingham to Blaine and beyond.
